Our Story

Sisters. Mothers. Founders.

Megan Steele (left) and Adrienne Adkins (right) owners of Redid.

It all started in Megan’s garage, in the Texas summer heat, refinishing furniture while our babies napped inside. This was the genesis of Redid—one nap and furniture piece at a time.

The beginnings were humble, and the growth gradual. We simply loved working with our hands, bringing old pieces back to life, all alongside our growing families. It was hard work; loading and unloading trailers full of finds we “Redid.” It was long car rides with car seats, to and from vintage markets, with two tired, yet fulfilled mommas at the wheel.

Our trailblazing parents were the first to show us the path of entrepreneurship. Even so, they questioned this “shop dream.” Who could blame them? The odds were not in our favor. Looking back, our expectations were low, but our faith in God was high. We feared the thought of never trying more than we feared failure.

When we opened our brick-and-mortar well over a decade ago, we were stunned by the loyalty and support of our customers. You all believed in us long before we fully believed in ourselves. Those two babies are now 12, and the shop has grown alongside us and our families, through seasons of both growth and despair. It has been an outlet for creativity and ministry. It has challenged us, provided for us, and provoked us to keep evolving while holding tight to our first love: making old things new.

The in-person connection and shopping experience has always been our top priority. We love people, and we take pride in curating spaces that inspire and invoke the senses of our customers. We believe there’s no greater investment than making a house feel like home, and that belief has guided us in the cultivation of our shop.

Once again, our customers have encouraged us to take another leap of faith. We can no longer ignore the demands of time or the most common question we hear: “Do you have an online store?” The answer now is yes. And it’s because of you. You all have been the constant and the catalyst for our growth and for that, we are forever thankful.

Sincerely,
A & M
